The temperature dropped so steeply during the day that by 16:00 the snow surface hardened to a crunchy crust.

Two hours away -in the city of Los Angeles- I was back to shorts and T-shirt.

Thanks to Hristo Badakov -my partner- for sharing the camera and knowing how to keep a battery working in freezing temperatures. Mine didn't make it.
